A Company’s Survival In Today’s Economy
Posted by Delbert Drentell in SEO on January 31st, 2010
Unless a company in today’s economy is constantly producing new products and creating new venues and possibilities to help growth, chances for survival are far and few in between. Most likely the company will have to close down because not enough effort was made to enhance its status in the marketplace. A company with a good marketing strategy is more likely to attract attention to itself and to the services and products that it provides.
Numerous ways exist in which to go about this. Firstly, the classic forms of advertising come to mind.
These are mainly adds in local newspapers or in nationally circulated newsletters and magazines, which have all proven to be very positive for various companies over the years.
A very commonly used form of advertising is the highway billboard. This has been very popular among a variety of companies because it is an advertisement that is seen by hundreds of thousands of people every day and visible to the masses. It is a phenomenal way to advertise new products, sales, and offers.
Today, radio advertising and television commercials have become quite prevalent. As a matter of fact, there are almost no radio or television stations that do not have private company advertisements within every ten minutes of airtime at least.
However, these forms of advertising do not have the power to give the interested potential customer more information or to potentially make a sale right then and there, in the heat of the moment.
In contrast, Internet advertising does have the power to do so, and it is relatively inexpensive in comparison to television and radio. There are even search engine optimization companies that help websites become highly regarded by search engines, which will help bring more traffic to the website and will help sales tremendously.
Every company must be able to assess its own capabilities with regards to what it can or cannot afford. However, the option of a website assisted by a search engine optimization company has proven to be financially sound endeavor for many companies.

Steps on Creating Backlinks to Your Website Free
Posted by Janet Addison in SEO on January 31st, 2010
One thing that I’ve learned about people who need backlinks to their website over the years is that you have to know what you’re doing. Other wise you could mess your whole entire website up.
Different people have different things to say in regards to what Google thinks about linking campaigns as a way to get hits to your site.
There is so much info on the web in regards to this niche, that at a certain point you just kind of have to stand back and take in what makes sense, and leave behind everything that is just “too good to be true.” We have to market our websites in a way that makes it look good.
No matter what you read in the forums and in blogs, you are really never going to know 100% what Google wants. Because none of those people that write reviews are writing specifically FOR Google.
People who give you advice are simply going by what works best for them (or rather what HAS worked for them in the past).
Things that you should always really take into consideration when trying to market your site are: who are the people that you are trying to reach? And what are the methods that you will use in your plan to be successful?
It is really quite simple why people who have creating a good amount of backlinks for themselves have been successful. Search engines love sites that other people love (popular sites). If you have links that means that you are popular… therefore search engines will love you.
When people start a campaign and begin creating backlinks for their site, they are simply trying to tell Google this: “Hey look at me, I’m everywhere, therefore I’m cool, so show me, Show me, Show me on page one!”
That is why you must be careful with this type of advertisement. Creating backlinks for yourself is fine, but you have to know just how to do it.
Consider this, if you were looking for a dog to buy for yourself, then on the next day, everyone on your phone list tried to convince you to buy this dog that they “all” saw on Ebay (remember this is hypothetical) wouldn’t you think that there was something weird going on?
This is the same thing for all popular search engines. They want good sites that are popular and have something to offer the searchers. But they want to see the sites grow naturally, not grow in a fishy weird way. They don’t want to see you grow popular over-night.
You can hear horrid stories on forums about websites that were bringing in loads of cash that suddenly were dropped off of the search engines index. Never to be indexed again.
Creating backlinks to your site is the same as trying to get famous and popular. That is why you must do it the right way.
So if you do decide to jump into a backlink campaign for your website/blog. Then please do yourself a favor and make it look as natural as possible.
As a matter a fact there are many people out there who even charge to provide the service for you. Some charge a lot, but some charge at reasonable rates. Either way, make sure that you know exactly what is going to be done for your site before you pay for it. Create backlinks to your site in a safe manner.

Search Engine Optimization, Three Secret Realizations
Posted by Thomas McMurrain in SEO on January 31st, 2010
Six months into building my online business I hit a brick wall and after asking some serious questions as to why, I realized that my SEO strategy was built on sand. I consulted with some SEO experts and I got laughed at for some of the classic mistakes that I made. Trust me when I tell you that the last thing you want to do is re-create your whole strategy because it is a lot of damn work. In the beginning ask the right questions, get the right answers and pursue the right strategy
Knowing Your Potential Customer Is Goal #1
When you start asking the right questions, you will begin to get better answers and better clarity about your online business. Here are a couple good questions; Who is my target customer? Why do they need my product? What solutions are they looking for? Most people trade time for money and if you can show them how to work less and have more time for personal pursuits they will befriend you like crazy. In the internet business we really sell solutions to problems most people do not like to talk about.
Until you get these questions asked and answered you should not begin your online business because you will find that many of the keywords will be found in the answers that you settle on. Really drilling down the answers to the questions can help you find niche keywords and ideas in less competitive categories and you may find better quality traffic.
Before I knew it I was back to square one with getting to know my audience and choosing the keywords that would attract qualified buyers to my website. Only then could I begin to put a good search engine optimization strategy into place.
People Do Not Want Products They Want Solutions
I replied, I plan to sell XYZ widgets. The experts said, How do you plan to sell XYZ widgets? A lot of other websites sell XYZ widgets. What is your Unique Selling Proposition (USP)? What kind of value are you going to offer? How are you going to use your website to lead visitors to the sale? How are you going to make a deposit in the bank of your clients before asking for the withdrawal??
Once you get these questions answered then you can begin your SEO strategy. The niche’s that you are in search of will be easier to find and the quality of traffic will be more laser targeted. It seems when you better understand the purpose of your business the more the search engine bots understand your site and know how to index you.
What is the Plan for Your Website Layout?
I replied, “I plan to provide a layout that helps to sell XYZ widgets.” The experts said, “How is the layout going to lead your visitor to the sale?” How are you going to lead your visitor around the website and then to the sale? What kind of useful information do you have to offer? How is the information useful to the product you are selling?
Realize this; the right hand must know what the left hand is doing for your whole online strategy to work. Bringing everything into alignment is very important and when you are inspired it is very fluid. Your SEO must be sync with your reasons and both of these must be in sync with your website layout. I guess you could call it the trinity of online business.
The bottom-line is this; listen to the golden wisdom in this article and try to prevent making the same mistakes. Get the order of building your online business in the right order and you will save yourself a lot of work down the road. Take it from someone who knows. Build your business on a solid foundation, be very methodical and stick to your knitting. When you find that niche, you could own it for many years to come.

Posted by Mariah Miller in SEO on January 31st, 2010
If you ever want your online business to be successful the most important things you need to do is make sure your site is optimized for the search engines.
To make sure your website is optimized for the search engines there are a number of things you should make sure to do.
Keyword research
The first thing I do is find keywords with searches greater than 2000 times every month, and with little or no competition. I consider this to be a very crucial step.
After you have found at least three keywords that you want to use, the next step is to impliment them into your website. It is usually important that you have your main keyword as the title of your website, and that you implement your keywords into the titles, meta tags, and content of every page of your website.
Pinging
Pingler.com is a site I have been using for awhile to ping my website after it is up and running. Its great for helping your website get indexed by the search engines.
Social Bookmarking
Social bookmarking is where people share their bookmarks on their computer with others, and vice versa. There are hundreds of social bookmark sites out there where you can submit your webiste to.
Map Listings
Bing, Yahoo, and Google all have great online map listings for you to add your business to, and its free which is always a plus.
Blog, ezine and forum posting.
If you sign up for forums, blogs and ezines preferable within the same niche as you and post with a link to your site in your signature, you will develop more backlinks.
Facebook, and Twitter
Facebook and Twitter are two great social networking sites for you to find other in the same niche as you and network with them, as well as drive more traffic to your website.
Classified Ad Submission
Adding your business to the online classifed advertisement listings is a great way to build more backlinks to your website, and find people who are looking for your services.
PPC Advertising
Google, Yahoo and Bing all offer a service called pay per click. Basically you pay for them to send customers to your website. You can control how much you want to pay per click too.
Directory Submission
Directory submission will build more backlinks to your website. There are hundreds of them out there too.
Backlinking
After keyword research, backlinking is the second most important part of getting your website on the first page of search engines. Backlinking is the act of linking your website to other high PR (page rank) sites so that when the search engines crawl the internet they see these links, and it helps with your ranking. The more backlinks you have, the higher your chances of are being on the first page of the search engines.
